Exam Format:
Total = 25 marks, worth 25% of the course.
The mid-semester exam consists of (a) multiple choice; and (b) short answer and
practical/problem solving questions, the number of which is as follows:
• 5 multiple choice questions; 5 marks in total (1 mark each)
o Covering Topics 1 and 2
• 3 written short answer and practical/problem solving questions; 20 marks in total
(marks split per question below)
o Topic 1 - Inventory cost flow, including journal entries & T-accounts (6 Marks)
o Topic 3 – Activity based costing (7 Marks)
o Topic 4 – Process costing (7 Marks)

• The practice questions are NOT the same as the exam questions.
• To be fully prepared you should study all material pertaining to the lectures, tutorials
and from the textbook.

Only One Attempt, No Breaks:
You must complete the exam in one sitting. Your exam duration time begins once you click
the link to begin, and you cannot begin again, redo the exam or request to defer the exam.
The exam can only be taken ONCE, with no breaks. Ensure that you use only one device.

Step 2: Then click on ‘ACCT2102 MID-SEMESTER EXAM, SEM 2, 2023’

the exam time. You will need to hit the REFRESH button on your browser to ensure that it
displays.

Steps for inserting tables in the Blackboard test tool
Written questions may require that you insert a table in the Blackboard test tool.
Below are screenshots, which take you through the process of adding a table, including also
how to delete a table.
Step 1: As indicated per the highlighted section below, hit the enter button a few times to
create some space above where you will then insert your table.
Step 2: Click the highlighted button.
Step 3: Insert a table according to your preference. After you insert each table, hit the enter
button a few times to ensure there is space between each table (if using more than one
table).
E.g., the above screenshot demonstrates adding a 4 x 10 table.

As you work through the question, you might need to add some additional rows and/or
columns. If this occurs, it is done by clicking as follows. For example, if you require an
additional two rows, you need to highlight two rows and then click the buttons highlighted in
the screenshot below.
Or if you need more columns, e.g.:
In case you need to delete a table. The first thing you need to do is select the entire table by
clicking down and holding, move the mouse from top left corner to bottom right corner of
the table so that it is all selected. Then click the ‘delete table’ button as shown in the
screenshot below.

Step 4: Finally, while the exam is set up to autosave your answers, you should
nevertheless check each question has saved, which can be done from seeing a green tick
in the box indicated below.
