What you will do
In your assignment you must address the following questions. Answer each question separately. Do not
copy the text of the question into your assignment, just identify your answer with the appropriate question
number.
1. Describe an important decision you made (you may change the details to maintain your privacy).
(10 marks)
2. Propose how three of the heuristics or biases described in the required readings (available from
our canvas page “Reading List”) may have influenced your decision (3 x 23 marks). The
relevance of each is part of the marking criteria. For each of the three heuristics or biases you
should:
A. Explain how a reading defines the heuristic or bias (paraphrase rather than directly quote) and
provide a citation to the reading and a page number(s). You may bring in other material from
the unit when answering the questions, but each heuristic or bias must reference a definition
contained in a reading.
B. Describe how it could have affected your decision with particular reference to how it is
described in the reading.
C. Specify whether you think there was a good, bad, or neutral impact on your decision.
D. Consider how strong an impact you think it had on your final decision.
3. How do you think you could you have improved the process by which you made your decision?
(15 marks)
4. Acknowledgment of sources. To answer this question you must include a reference section with at
least the three reading from the unit that you used. If you used any other sources, then they should
be listed here. This includes any use of Generative AI (such as ChatGPT) which should be
appropriately acknowledged (see below). (6 marks)
Use of Generative AI
You are permitted to use generative AI (such as ChatGPT) to help if you wish, but it must be
appropriately acknowledged. You can do this as part of your response to Question 4 where you need to
describe the AI tool(s) that you used, what you used it to do, what prompt(s) you provided, and how the
output of the artificial intelligence was used or adapted by you. This additional description does not add
to your word count.
Do not post confidential, private, personal, or otherwise sensitive information into these tools. If you use
2
these tools, you must be aware of their limitations, biases, and propensity for fabrication. Your use of AI
tools must adhere to the Student Charter 2020, including upholding honesty, ethics, professionalism, and
academic integrity. Ultimately, you are 100% responsible for your assessment submission.
Formatting Recommendations
• Use the font “Times New Roman”, 12-point size, and double-space all the lines.
• Indent the beginning of each paragraph using one tab space.
• We prefer APA referencing style, but will accept any standard style. You must provide citations
where appropriate, but you can base your assignment on material in the modules alone.
Academic Honesty
Before submitting your assignment you must have completed the Online Academic Honesty
Educational Module provided by the University.
Your assignment will be analysed for evidence of plagiarism by the Turnitin software which will compare
your paper against other assignments, internet sources, and academic sources. To avoid plagiarism make
sure that you properly cite any source you use, and do not give your assignment (or drafts) to any other
student. You can discuss your assignment with other students, but do not give them text that could be
copied into an assignment. All cases of suspected plagiarism must be referred to the University.
