Team Report (A1, Team Contribution Moderator (TCM))
Team Contribution Moderator (TCM), Friday 9.30am and Monday 9.30am Week 12
The Team Contribution Moderator (TCM) is a team incentive tool. The TCM provides an incentive for all team
members to contribute to the team regularly and constructively throughout the semester. The incentive ties
directly to your Team Report (A1) mark, and the opportunity for moderating this mark (up or down, to a
maximum of 25%).
The TCM will be used three (3) times during the semester. The TCM provides you with feedback on the quality
of your contributions to the team, as well as the opportunity for you to provide feedback to your other team
members. The criteria used for the feedback are positive contributors to team performance (see rubric, p. 6).
The outcome of the TCM, in addition to contributor behaviour feedback, also provides a 'contribution mark'.
The contribution mark is determined by your teammates’ rating of your contribution on the criteria (80%), and
your evaluation of your teammates’ contributions (20%).
Three TCM Implementations
The TCM will be implemented in Week 3, 6, and 12, assessing contributions over the prior weeks (inclusive).
• Contribution period 1: Week 1-Week 3
• Contribution period 2: Week 4-Week 6
• Contribution period 3: Week 7-Week 12
This means that your contributions from Week 1 will be assessed and you will receive feedback on these
during the semester. Additionally, you will be providing feedback on your teammates’ contributions over this
time as well.
Influence on Team Report (A1) Mark
Whilst the first two TCM implementations are ‘practice’ runs so that you can develop your contribution skills,
contributions to the team, and evaluation of others’ contributions, the final TCM will be used to moderate
your Team Report (A1) mark. That is, the TCM mark you are awarded in the final implementation will
determine how much of the Team Report (A1) mark you actually receive.
The moderation will be determined on your relative contribution to the team. Specifically, if your TCM score is
similar to your team’s TCM median score, then your Team Report (A1) mark will not be moderated. However,
if your contribution is different to the team’s TCM median score, then your Team Report (A1) mark will be
moderated (up or down, to a maximum of 25%).

* Percentage moderation is of the Team Report (A1) awarded mark (not full bonus marks). For example, if
your Team Report (A1) mark was 65, and your TCM score was 11-points higher than the team median, then
you receive a 23% (15-marks) bonus, and your Team Report (A1) mark would be 80.
** Maximum bonus is to 100%, and a maximum loss is to 0% (zero). For example, if your Team Report (A1)
mark was 87, and your TCM was 14-points higher than the team median, you would receive a 25% (22-
marks) bonus, though your mark provided would be the maximum of 100 (as compared to 109).
Submission
Submissions are at the bottom of the Team section in Moodle.
Please submit your preferred name (for example ‘Keith Yang’) in the Moodle submission text box title area.
Submit your name as soon as possible for all three rounds (Submissions open in Week 1, after joining a team in
class and confirming this in Moodle). See Moodle for the specific submission deadlines for the respective
periods.
LATE SUBMISSIONS NOT ACCEPTED.
Evaluation
Evaluations are through the same link as the submission; at the bottom of the Team section in Moodle.
Use your summary table of your and team members' contributions to the team to guide your evaluation.
You need to evaluate your own contribution, as well as every one of your teammates. NOTE, you will only be
able to assess your and your teammates’ contributions if you and they have submitted their name by the due
time.
Use the rubric to record your evaluation, and provide qualitative feedback as to what contributions you would
like the team member to continue with, and what aspect they should enhance (be constructive). Whilst the
feedback is anonymous, your teammates see your feedback.
See Moodle for the specific evaluation opening and closing times for the respective periods.
YOU CAN ASSESS TEAM MEMBERS EVEN IF YOU HAVE NOT SUBMITTED YOUR NAME

As a team determine a shared understanding of the ratings. For example, for attendance:
5 = attended on time and was active in class
4 = was slightly late though still active
3 = was late though active
2 = attended though was not an active contributor
1 = did not attend, though let everyone know with a good reason
0 = did not attend
Again, for example, for preparation:
5 = completed preparation on time and to a high quality
4 = was on time, and very good quality
3 = was on time, with good quality
2 = was on time, though with low quality
1 = was not on time
0 = no preparation
