Thesis statement: Rhetorical strategies of feminine rhetoric and invitational
communication are employed to oppose animal cruelty and state that animal
experimentation is unethical.
Introduction
The ethics and morality of animal experiments is a controversial issue. My aunt was
firmly opposed to animal experiments and animal abuse and believed that animal
experiments were immoral. The aunt will resonate with the animal’s feelings through
feminist rhetoric and the strategy of inviting sexual communication.
This paper will discuss the ethical challenges of animal experimentation and how
rhetorical and ethical perspectives can used to argue against this practice.
Paragraph 1: Ethical issues in animal experimentation and discussion of its
historical ethical argument, scale.
The author will introduce the characteristics of the feminist communication tradition,
including emotional, caring ethics, and invitational communication. Feminist
communication tradition is a communication method characterized by emotion, caring
ethics, and invitational communication. This tradition points out the importance of
emotions, arguing that emotions can evoke deeper resonance and understanding in the
debate (Bizzell & Herzberg,1990). caring ethics refers to paying attention to the needs
rights and interests of others, especially the demands of vulnerable groups, which is
particularly critical in controversial topics and introduces pathos to the audience
( Lunsford ,2010). invitational communication points out openness and respect for
different viewpoints out and encourages dialogue rather than compulsory preaching or
debate. In addition, the author will discuss why it is effective to adopt this tradition in
controversial topics. In addition, the author will cite Campbell’s (1973) point of view,
emphasizing that moral issues require emotion and resonance. Campbell’s (1973)
point of view points out that moral issues need emotion and resonance. This means
that only relying on logic and facts may not touch people’s hearts deeply, and
emotions can inspire stronger emotional responses, making it easier for people to
resonate with ethical issues. In controversial topics, emotions can be a bridge to
different perspectives, prompting people to think more actively and participate in
debate, thereby providing more opportunities for dispute resolution.
Paragraph 3: the role of invitational communication
Explain the concept of invitational communication, emphasizing respect for multiple
perspectives and the importance of dialogue. Invitational communication is a
communication method, that emphasizes the importance of respect and dialogue for
multiple viewpoints (Black, 2008). It is based on the idea that in controversial topics,
people may hold various ethical frameworks and positions, rather than simply
opposing views. Therefore, the goal of inviting communication is to create an open,
inclusive, and respectful communication environment, encourage people to share their
views, and have useful conversations with others. The author will explain how to use
invitational communication to encourage people to accept different ethical
frameworks. For example, listening and understanding, asking questions and
promoting dialogue, sharing information and opinions, and emphasizing common
goals are all more effective ways.
Conclusion
Summarize the importance of the two rhetorical strategies of feminist rhetoric and
invitational communication in opposing animal experimentation and how they can
point to the status of moral and ethical issues in people’s minds.
