• The Final examination is held online. Check your personalised examination timetable for time (date, hour) of
the exam. The Examinations Unit will provide you with information regarding the time of your exam. You will
also receive information from the Examinations Unit regarding how you will register for/schedule your online
exam and all requirements needed to successfully complete the exam online. Students are to follow these
instructions and register for/schedule their Final exam for BUSM1010 Financing Enterprises. If you do not register
for the Final exam for BUSM1010 Financing Enterprises, you will not be able to undertake the online Final
exam.
• For general issues, questions regarding the actual proctoring and attendance to the online exam, please email
examinations@westernsydney.edu.au for assistance. Exam content and study related questions can be sent to
the Subject Coordinator or your teaching academic.
• The Final examination is a closed-book exam, and it will be a proctored exam.
• The duration of the exam will be 2 hours; there will be no separate reading time.
• Students are not permitted to have any books or notes in their possession whilst sitting the exam.
• The formula sheet will be provided to you in the Final exam, and you will be permitted to download a copy of
the formula prior to commencing the Final exam. You are not permitted to have a print-out copy of it.
• Students should have the following items for their online exam. These are the only resources permitted:
• valid student ID
• a non-programmable scientific or financial calculator (calculators on mobile phones or similar electronic
devices, such as a tablet or computer, are not permitted)
• 3 A4 blank papers for rough working out
• pencil(s), pen(s) and eraser for rough working out on paper
• The Final exam has a 50% weighting in the overall assessment for this subject. The marking criteria is available
in the Learning Guide.
• There is a minimum threshold mark set on this assessment task. The threshold mark will not be more than 45
per cent of the total Final exam marks.
• Students are reminded that the exam will be proctored online and any cheating during the exam may result in
severe penalties, as per University policy. Students are also reminded that the use of virtual machines,
generative AI, and other related software is not permitted during the exam. Consequently, failure to adhere
to exam requirements, as per the University's Examination Procedures (clause 22/23), may result in action
being undertaken, pursuant to the Student Misconduct Rule.
• Once the exam begins, you will not be able to leave your computer until the exam is complete. Please use the
restroom prior to your exam starting.

BUSM1010 Final Exam Structure and Hints
The exam consists of two (2) parts:
Part A: 30 Multiple Choice Questions (0.5 mark each – total 15 Marks)
• You will answer the multiple-choice questions online.
• Questions in Part A will cover all materials taught from Week 5, through to and including, Week
13.
• To be well prepared for these exam questions, students are strongly advised to practice the
weekly ‘Multiple Choice Group Competition Quiz’ questions, which are covered during the
tutorial classes. The solutions to these quizzes are located on the BUSM1010 vUWS site, in the
weekly ‘Tutorial Guide’ folder (in the Tutorial Solutions section), for each respective week under
examination. This is accessible via the Learning Materials folder, for each week. The Learning
Materials link is present in the Learning Zone on the BUSM1010 vUWS site.
Part B: Consists of 8 Short Answer and Problems Questions (Total 35 Marks)
Five Questions will be short answer questions covering materials taught from Chapters 8, 9, 11,
and 12 in the prescribed textbook for this subject (Bakry 2020) and Chapter 23 – ‘Monetary
Policy’ from Fraser, Gionea, and Fraser (2011) – a PDF of the chapter is available in the Week 13
Learning Materials folder on vUWS.
One Question will be a graphical question. You will not be asked to construct a graph, but rather
provide answers and label parts of a figure/graph (see example provided in the Sample Exam
available on vUWS – Part b: Question 2). Example of figures or graphs can include: loanable
funds theory, the circular flow diagram, the business cycle, and the Philips curve.
One Question will be a quantitative (numerical) question covering materials taught in Chapter
11 in the prescribed textbook for this subject (Bakry 2020). You will not be asked to show
calculations, but rather provide final answers (see example provided in the Sample Exam
available on vUWS – Part b: Question 8).
One Question will be a graphical/short answer question. You will be provided with a graph and
asked to answer questions based on that graph. (see example provided in the Sample Exam
