Case Study Analysis
Individual Report (30%)
Overview
A case study is an account of an activity, event, or problem that contains a real or hypothetical situation and
includes the complexities you would encounter in the workplace. Case studies are used to help you see how
the complexities of real-life influence decisions. Analysing a case study requires practising applying your
knowledge and thinking skills to a real-life situation. To learn from a case study analysis, you must analyse
information, apply knowledge and reason, and draw conclusions.
While the presentation required the group to reach a consensus on how to approach the CSA, this assignment
will allow you to work independently to analyse your assigned case study, using your own unique perspective
and develop recommendations based upon OB theories and concepts found in Revel and scholarly literature.
Individual Report Grading
The CSA Individual Report is worth 30%:
This is an individual assessment. Therefore, presentation team members must complete their case study
reports independently.
Failure to attempt Assessment 2: Case Study Analysis will result in a grade of FNS (Fail Non-Submit) as it is
a compulsory component of your assessment. That is, if you do not submit at least one part of this assessment,
you will automatically fail the unit. For more information about WSU results and grades, please click on the

2
Extensions and Special Consideration
A student may apply for an extension of the due date for an assessment task if extenuating circumstances
outside their control and sufficiently grave in nature or duration cause significant disruption to their capacity to
study effectively.
To apply for an extension of assessment, please go to Student Forms for guidance on how to lodge a request
for consideration by the Subject Coordinator/Convenor. Extension requests can be lodged before, on or no
later than 5.00pm two working days after the due date of the assessment task.
The University will provide students who have experienced a serious and unavoidable disruption to their
studies a Disruption to Studies provision, an opportunity to demonstrate that they have met the learning
outcomes for the subject. To be eligible for a Disruption to Studies Provision, the disruption must impact your
studies for at least three consecutive days. For more information and how to apply, go to Disruption to Studies.
Also, please be advised that WSU has an excellent counselling unit that can help students through difficult
events in their life and offer support in getting extensions and deferred exams. Details of the counselling unit
can be found at
http://www.westernsydney.edu.au/currentstudents/current_students/services_and_facilities/counselling_services.
Note: Students should read and understand the Special Consideration policy and note that an application for
extension or special consideration does not automatically mean that it will be approved, so submit your
assessment as soon as possible.
