Details of Task: The way you interact and communicate with others is not only
crucial for this unit, but in the workplace as well. This
assessment task is designed to help you think about your own
communication preferences and styles.
Word limit: 1500 words (excluding executive summary, table of contents
and reference list)
Assessment task:
Analysing your communication preferences and styles through diagnostic tests is
one way to gain self-awareness and improve your communication skills. As part
of this assessment, you are required to complete the four diagnostic tests in the
Personality Workbook (the Big Five Personality Test, the Emotional Intelligence
Test, the Social Style Test, and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
Personality Inventory.
You need to choose the MBTI and ONE other test to discuss in your assessment.
Use the personality tests to understand your personality as a whole and then pick
out specific areas (e.g. extrovert, disorganised, have high attention to detail) and
discuss your strengths and weaknesses, what areas you need to improve, and
how you are going to achieve this.
Your report should address the following:
• Use at least 2 personality tests (check assessment resources)
• Demonstrate a good understanding of your personality based on the test
results
• Your communication strengths and weaknesses
• Implications for you in the workplace
• What areas you need to improve
• How you are going to improve them (including a plan)
• Use of evidence which draws on the literature
• Demonstrates logical thinking and structure

Presentation requirements:
• Use peer reviewed academic journal articles, business reports and reputable
websites as the basis of your report.
• A minimum of 10 references are to be used, which should include at least 5
academic journals.
• Use APA 7th edition reference style throughout the report and reference list.
• Use Times New Roman or Arial 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.
• Please ensure that you check the grammar and spelling in your assignment.
Report format is required.

A report should include the following:
• Executive summary
• Table of contents
• Introduction (~100 words)
• Findings and Discussion (of the tests, ~700 words, should apply key unit
concepts in the discussion of test results)
• Conclusion (~400 words, should present your reflections)
• Recommendation (~300 words, should present your action and implications
for future learning)
• Reference list
Penalties for late lodgement:
The penalty for late submission is 10% per day, including weekends
