Please attempt the problems below before attending the tutorial. Your tutors will discuss brief solutions to
these exercises and may not be able to cover all questions due to time constraints. You are encouraged to let
the tutors know which problems in particular would you like them to focus on.
1) Questions 4, 5, and 14 in Progress Exercises 6.13.
2) Questions 4, 8, and 12 in Progress Exercises 6.14.
3) Questions 2,3, and 4 in Progress Exercises 6.15.
4) Find the turning points, inflection points and the intercepts of the following
functions, and then sketch the functions:
a) f(x) = 3x – x2
b) f(x) = 2x3-5x2
