Project Management
Over the past few weeks, we have reviewed many project management concepts. This assignment
allows you to reflect on what you have learned and on your next steps.
1. Project management is an ever evolving discipline. We just scratched the surface of many of
the topics covered in the course. Identify three topics covered in the course that you would
like to learn more about and why? For each topic identify a unique activity a student can do
outside of the class to learn more about the topic. You should consider researching examples
of things a student could consider exploring. (5 marks)
2. Describe two topics in the course that you found most valuable and why. Describe how you
will apply the topic going forward. You can explain how the topic could be applied in a
present, past or future employment opportunity. Be specific in describing the application of
the topic. You should consider researching opportunities where the topic could be applied. (5
marks)
3. Do a personal retrospective of your performance in the course. Discuss what you did well,
what you could have improved upon, major challenges and obstacles, surprising insights and
learning experiences. Consider all aspects of the course, lectures, readings, assignments,
group work etc. (5 marks)
Your submission should:
i. Be Double-spaced
ii. Have 1-inch margins
iii. Utilize 12pt Times New Roman font, APA format
iv. Be Single-sided
v. Be a maximum of 1500 words
vi. List the questions above with short answer responses
vii. References identified as per course outline – check out Cite It Right
Additional Tips:
1) A unique response to question 1 and question 2 means the topics identified in
question 1 should not also be the topics discussed in question 2. For example, if you

want to learn more about project negotiation, the expectation is that topic is not what
you found most valuable.
2) For question 1, a unique activity a student can do to learn more about a topic means
the activity should not be re-used for each topic identified. For example, if you suggest
a student can take a course to learn more about a specific topic, you should not also
suggest they can take a course to learn more about any of the other topics identified
in question 1.
3) For question 1, the unique activity you suggest a student can to learn more about a
topic should be specific i.e. if you suggest a student can take a course, what specific
course and why?
4) For question 1, your topics should be specific. So if you want to learn more about agile
project management – what specifically about agile project management do you want
to learn more about – planning, budgeting etc?
5) Your submission will be graded out of 15 and is worth 15% of your final grade. A
strong submission provides a thoughtful answer to all questions, suggests examples
based upon research makes logical assumptions and references course materials and
external sources when necessary.
