Task Description: This assessment task requires you to choose two (2) topics and write a
brief summary of the learning activity (lecture/seminar) and discussion of application to
practice.
Topics to select from:
• 'Digital Humanitarianism and Social Change'
• 'Health Communication and Social Change'
• ‘Media Development and Social Change'
• 'Communication Rights and Social Change'.
You will be required to write a summary of a learning activity (lecture/ seminar) and
application to practice related to two (2) of the learning activities (lectures/ seminars) in
selected weeks of the course. The summary of the learning activity must include
identification of the key theory/ theories used.
Word limit: Each summary should be approximately 500 words as a maximum. The
summaries are each worth 5% (combined weighting of 10%).
Submission: Each summary can be submitted any time after the relevant learning activity.
The two summaries must be submitted by the final due date.
This assessment task evaluates students' abilities, skills and knowledge without the aid of
Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students are advised that the use of AI technologies to develop
responses is strictly prohibited and may constitute student misconduct under the Student
Code of Conduct.

First Summary: 5 marks
Summary of learning activity (lecture/ seminar): 2 marks
Application to practice: 1 mark
Reflection on class discussion: 2 marks
Second Summary: 5 marks
Summary of learning activity (lecture/ seminar): 2 marks
Application to practice: 1 mark
Reflection on class discussion: 2 marks
