ACX 5903 Group Assignment – S1 2024
ACX 5903 GROUP ASSIGNMENT
Assignment Objective:
The assignment is designed for students to understand, analyse and comment on the annual report of
a publicly listed entity. Students will be assessed on their ability to analyse, critique and communicate
their understanding of the section of the annual report.
PART A: BUSINESS REPORT
Due date: By 11:55 PM, 10 May
Word limit: 1,000 words
PART B: PRESENTATION
Due date: By 11:55 PM, 17 May
Time limit: 7 minutes
IMPORTANT:
• Generative AI tools cannot be used in this assessment task. Penalties will apply.
• Students need to self-select into a group of 3 and form their group on Moodle. Students will
not be permitted to complete the assignment individually.
• Each group is required to analyse the 2023 Harvey Norman Annual Report that will be made
available on Moodle.
• Students of each group are required to demonstrate their ability to understand the assigned
Annual Report Section by conducting extensive research and presenting their understanding
through a report and presentation.
• The topic for each group is determined by adding the last digit of each group member's
student ID. For instance, if the last digits of the student IDs for three group members
are 5, 7, and 9, respectively, the sum would be 21. In this case, the group would be
assigned Topic 1.
• Each group must familiarise themselves with the whole annual report immediately after
receiving the assignment. This will involve research about current affairs that relate to Harvey
Norman.
• Students must provide the references to justify their responses and interpretations.
• Each group needs a leader. The group assignment must be submitted by the leader on behalf
of the members via the submission site on Moodle.
• The other team members shall not submit the document for Turnitin check. If two members
separately submit the same document for Turnitin check, Turnitin will assign a very high
similarity score.

• It is the responsibility of each group member to complete the signed cover sheet which
accompanies the report submitted via Moodle.
• For Assignment 2 Part A, the group leader must submit the assignment and one signed cover
sheet as two separate files, to prevent Turnitin treating the cover sheet as part of the
assignment.
• For Assignment 2 Part B, the group leader must submit the MP4 file and the ppt slides as two
separate files.
• All group members must contribute equally to the report and participate in the presentation.
Failure to do so will result in a mark of zero for that student (unless there are exceptional
circumstances for Special Consideration approved by the Chief Examiner). It is the
responsibility of each group member to ensure everyone are participating equally and to
inform the Chief Examiner if there are any problems with your group members.
