1. Many of the films we have seen this semester dramatize the tension
between distinct spaces— physically, psychologically, culturally,

ontologically, and otherwise. Pick a film and explore the ways in which it
constructs different spaces through formal devices. How are these spaces
audiovisually defined and demarcated? What are their functions? How do they
relate to each other? What can we say about the film in general by attending to
its proposed notion of spatiality?

the documentary impulse perceived in a fiction film.

generic framework (and based on what semantic and syntactic criteria would

elements, structures, and expectations, what effect does the film produce
on the audience? What does the effect reveal about the film more generally?

1. Review the overall structure:
 Ensure that your reflective writing has a clear introduction, body,
and conclusion.
 Check if your main ideas are organized logically and coherently
throughout the piece.
 Verify that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and flows
smoothly into the next.

1. 检查第一个段落的最后一句话(整篇文章的核心内容);

2. body段落的第一句话,一定要直接写出你们的观点。(易错点:这句话不要
太长,大概不超过一行半。)
2. Assess the logical flow of ideas:
 Examine the connections between your arguments and
sub-arguments.
 Check if the progression of ideas is logical and follows a coherent
sequence.
 Ensure that each point builds upon the previous one and supports your
main thesis or reflective objective.

1. Arguments = introduction / 第一个段落的最后一句话
2. Sub-arguments = body 的第一句话
Notice:在 sub-argument 部分的 film sequence/reading 都是要直接/间接关
联到你的 argument。否则,就有偏题的倾向,会带来一定的扣分。
3. Analyze the supporting evidence:
 Evaluate the relevance and sufficiency of the evidence you provide to
support your claims.
 Check if your evidence effectively supports your arguments and
contributes to the overall logic of your reflective writing.
 Make sure that you cite and reference your sources accurately and
appropriately.
主要的考察核心就是对于文献和 film sequence的引用(易错点)!
4. Verify the clarity and coherence of your arguments:
 Read your reflective writing aloud or ask someone else to read it to
identify any unclear or convoluted sentences.
 Check that each argument is presented clearly and concisely.
 Make sure that your reflective writing stays focused on your main topic
or thesis, avoiding tangents or unrelated discussions.
 着重检查,自己引用了文献之后,有没有针对文献去做解释!这里的解

释更倾向于,将文献和你的sub-argument以及argument 串联在一起!
 再检查一下,introduction / 第一段落的最后一句话,是否和你想要讨
论的 sub-argument 一致!
5. Consider counterarguments and alternative perspectives:
 Assess if you have addressed potential counterarguments or
alternative perspectives.
 Check if you have provided thoughtful analysis and responses to these
opposing viewpoints.
 Ensure that your reflective writing demonstrates critical thinking and
acknowledges different perspectives in the field.
 去查看是否有 generalisation 的表达,如果有,就修改!
 检查自己的 reading / film sequence 是否正确(最核心的内容)!
6. Seek feedback from others:
 Share your reflective writing with peers, professors, or writing tutors for
feedback.
 Ask for specific feedback on the logic, coherence, and structure of your
writing.
 Consider their suggestions and revise your reflective writing
accordingly.

是否有把你的 argument/research解释清楚。例如,你想要说 this shot,那么
一定要检查你前面的内容有没有讲清楚你要表述的 shot 是什么内容。
