Purpose: This course is designed to provide a foundation for understanding:
✓ the economics of international trade,
✓ and international trade policy.
✓ It aims to develop your ability to understand and evaluate real world events
and public discussions of international trade issues.
Course overview
Van Pham | ECON3116 International Trade Theory and Policy
Content: This course has three broad themes.
✓ Economics models that explain why countries engage in international trade.
✓ Examination of both positive and negative welfare consequences of trade.
✓ Discussion of international trade policy options available to governments
Clarification: The course is about micro international economics.
Preparation:
Review ECON2101 Microeconomics 2 and ECON1202 Quantitative
Analysis for Business and Economics.
