Assessment Task
Working in a group of 3–4 students, produce a 1,200-word (± 10%) report (including diagrams and
schematics) which evaluates the implementation of a selected smart industry application and
proposes a project plan to address identified challenges.
Please refer to the Instructions for details on how to complete this task.
Context
SIA322_Assessment 2_20240603 Page 2 of 9
This is the second of three assessments in a series that requires you to work collaboratively in a
group. The primary objective of this assessment is to strengthen your ability to analyse and propose
solutions for challenges encountered during the implementation of smart industry applications. It
builds upon your understanding of smart industry concepts, technologies and practical applications
while advancing your problem-solving, critical thinking and research skills. By engaging in this task,
you will reinforce your knowledge, gain valuable insights into professional applications and develop
essential project-planning and evaluation capabilities.
Instructions
You will continue working in the group you formed for Assessment 1. Building upon the findings
from Assessment 1, your group is now required to evaluate the selected smart industry application's
implementation. In Assessment 1, your group selected the research problem topic. In Assessment 2,
you will start working on the implementation of the selected smart industry application, proposing a
project plan to address the identified challenges. The project plan should focus on overcoming the
obstacles faced by the company featured in the case study and improving the effectiveness of the
smart industry application. Your proposal should be supported by research and should align with the
case study analysis conducted in Assessment 1.
To complete this assessment task successfully, you must complete the following steps.
1) Access and review the group contract.
• Please read your completed Group Contract and refer to sections 6.1 and 6.2 of the
Student Conduct Policy.
• For Assessment 2, you should keep records of communication and drafts.
• Consult with your learning facilitator regarding any contribution or other issues.
• For Assessment 2, you should keep records of communication and drafts. Any serious
concerns about an individual group member’s contribution should be brought to the
attention of your learning facilitator as soon as they occur or at least two weeks before
the assessment task due date, whichever is earlier. Groups may also be required to
produce these records as evidence of group members’ contributions.
• If a student has been accused of not contributing equally or fairly to a group assessment
task, the learning facilitator will contact the student, who will be given three working
days to respond to the allegation and provide supporting evidence. If there is no
response within three working days of contact, the learning facilitator will determine an
appropriate mark based on available evidence. This may differ from the mark awarded
to other group members and will reflect the individual student’s contribution regarding
the quantity and quality of work.
2) Complete a group report (1,200 words ± 10%).
Prepare a report on the case study that you selected for Assessment 1, ensuring to include a
diagram that effectively illustrates the methodology employed in the implementation
process. The diagram should clearly outline the steps involved, highlighting the sequence
and interconnections between each stage.

You must consistently support your findings with current primary research, utilising APA
referencing style. All resources cited must be included in your reference list.
Your assessment should include at least three references.
Your report should include the following sections.
