(325-375 words)

What is a Reflection?
Part 1
❖ Not a summary of Week 1-2
❖ Not a description of Week 1-2 Module contents
It could be about:
– What is (are) the topic/theory/reading/in-class activity that has resonated strongly with you?
– What have you learned about/from it?
– Why have you picked it?
– To what extend is it relevant to your learning/experience?
In Part 2, scan through the modules and pick one or two topic(s) that you are looking forward to/you expect to learn
more.
What you expect to learn about these and how you think they may help you in your academic, professional, or personal
life.
A critical reflection will also discuss challenges, limitations, concerns/fear, actions (be sure to discuss the complexities of
combining these areas).

Part 1: Exemplar
• In Week 1& 2 cover such and such topics- There are approximately ### themes in these two modules
(visualisation-mind map?)
• I have chosen ‘Topic name’ for this reflection- It is discussed in ‘Reading xxx’
• What have I learned about this?
• Why have I chosen this topic? How is it relevant to me (experiences, personal stories, facts, trends etc.)
(facts, trends, information could be from the news, journal articles, readings you have done etc…)
• How could you use that acquired knowledge? What do you intend to use with that knowledge? Why?
When?
However, this concept is only one of the concepts related to ‘Topic name’. There are some theories
associated with ‘Topic name’ that are not discussed in the module. For example,……(Reference). I will
endeavour to do more readings………This may help enhancing my understanding of ‘topic name’……
Another issue was that I had difficulty grasping the concept until we did the ‘xxx’ activity in-class. I have
come to realise that relying on module contents alone does not always help………………

Part 2: Exemplar
– I have scanned through Week 7 topic and the ‘Topic/reading/theory’ etc (any course materials)…has
attracted my attention. In this section, the module discussed ‘Topic name’. I could see from this section
that (outline what you have captured; what has attracted your attention)
– This seems interesting to me because ………(facts, personal stories, trends etc…) {Why has the ‘Topic
name’ section strongly resonated with you?}
– What else do you want to learn about ‘Topic name’?
– Why is it important to learn about this?
– What are the actions you plan to take to further your learning about ‘Topic name’?
– How could I use this knowledge beyond BUSS5221?
– What are the potential challenges I have? (The ‘However’,…..)
