Context
This is the final instalment of your 3-part group project, which culminates in Assessment 3, a
comprehensive demonstration of your proficiency in the field of smart industry applications. The
final report, poster and video presentation will be meticulously designed to showcase the
knowledge and skills you have acquired throughout the subject. Through this final assessment,
you will critically analyse various facets, such as ICT technologies, software and networking
solutions, ethical practices, and the evaluation of smart industry applications based on societal
considerations and industry standards. By undertaking this assessment, you will have the
opportunity to further develop your critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills
within a practical and relevant context. Ultimately, the primary objective of this assessment is to
prepare you to apply your acquired knowledge professionally, equipping you with the necessary
skills to excel in the dynamic and evolving field of smart industry applications.
Instructions
You will continue working in the groups formed for Assessments 1 and 2. For Assessment 3, your
group will need to develop a comprehensive report, poster and video presentation for your
smart industry application project. The report will cover your case study analysis, evaluation of
ICT technologies, software and networking solutions, ethical considerations and societal impact.
The 1-page poster will summarise the key aspects of your project visually and the 5-minute
video presentation will provide a concise oral and visual overview of your project.
You must cite primary research using APA referencing style to support your findings. They must
be included in the reference list in your report and presentation slides. A minimum of four
resources must be utilised.
A minimum of three resources must be included in your reference list.
Please refer to the Instructions for details on how to complete this task.
This assessment task consists of three parts:
1) Report
• A 1,500-word (± 10%) report on the case study showing the methodology for developing
the smart industry application. Your report must include the following sections:
▪ Introduction
▪ Body
▪ Conclusion
▪ Reference List
2) Poster
▪ Create a visually appealing 1-page poster that summarises the key aspects of your
project.
▪ The poster should include concise text, diagrams and relevant visuals to effectively
convey the main points of your smart industry application.
▪ The content on the poster should be 300 words (± 10%).
▪ Ensure that the poster is well-designed, visually appealing and easy to read.
Page 3 of 13 SIA322_Assessment 3_20240603
▪ Students are encouraged to utilise programs such as Canva to develop their posters.
3) Video presentation
▪ The 5-minute video presentation accompanying your report and poster should
provide a concise overview of your project, highlighting the case study, evaluation of
ICT technologies, software and networking solutions, ethical considerations and
societal impact.
▪ Use visuals, slides, or other multimedia elements to enhance the presentation and
engage the audience.
▪ All presentations will be pre-recorded and uploaded to the Blackboard LMS, for both
on-campus and online students.
To complete this assessment task successfully, you must complete the following steps.
1) Access and review the group contract.
• Please read your completed SIA322 Assessments 1, 2 and 3 Group Contract and
refer to sections 6.1 and 6.2 of the Student Conduct Policy.
• For Assessment 3, you should keep records of communication and drafts.
• Consult with your learning facilitator regarding any contribution or other issues.
2) Review your findings from Assessment 2 (investigative report).
• As you re-examine your findings from Assessment 2, consider smart industry
solutions that meet industry standards on ethics and security requirements. The
recommendations should consider the specific needs and requirements of the
organisation and the industry in which it operates.
3) Complete a group report (1,500 words ± 10%).
