Mid semester Exam – Swap groups
• Due to the large number of student requests asking to swap
exam dates, we have decided to let you choose which of the two
dates you would like to take the exam.
• However, you only have one attempt; so, if you start the exam
on Tuesday, you won’t be able to redo it on Friday (even if you
were only a few seconds on the exam page!).
• So, do not click on the exam link on Tuesday if you want to do it
on Friday!!

• Penalties will be applied to the examination score for late submissions as
follows:
- For less than 5 minutes late: 5% penalty
- From 5 minutes to less than 15 minutes late: 20% penalty
- More than 15 minutes late: 100% penalty.
• There is only a 5-minute ‘online submission allowance’ as you don’t have
to upload anything, you just need to click on the ‘submit button’.
- Penalties start after the 5 extra minutes.
• Penalties will be applied unless there is sufficient evidence that the late
submission is beyond the control of the student.
- If students experience interruptions to their examinations, they are required to collect
suitable evidence, e.g. screenshots, photos, or emails from AskUs.
- To apply to have the late penalty waived, follow the procedure here:
https://my.uq.edu.au/information-and-services/manage-my-program/exams-and-
assessment/requesting-late-penalty-exemption-online-exam?p=0#0
- You only have 24 hours to do so and that is decided by the School, not by myself! So
do not send me an email!
