General information CATs
Idea: Continuous Assessment Tasks (CATs) support progressive learning and feedback across the
semester.
Weight: The CAT assessment is done at three different points across the semester and comprises 3 short
tasks worth 10% each (total 30%).
Assessment type: For each short task, a set of questions is assigned in the topic before the due week.
Students answer the questions individually.
Formalities: Please submit a word file, with a word limit of 400 in total (excluding references)
Submission: Students submit their work via Turnitin by Monday 10.00 am of the due week. Late
submissions are not accepted.
Feedback: The answers to the questions are discussed in the class following the due date. Marking will be
done using rubric shown on of following slides.
CATs for MKTG2023:
• CAT 1: between week 2 and 3 (answers due in week 3, Monday 8th of August 10am)
• CAT 2: between week 4 and 5 (answers due in week 5, Monday 22nd of August 10am)
• CAT 3: between week 7 and 8 (answers due in week 8, Monday 26th of September 10am)
Question 1:
Explain the differences between paid, owned and earned communication and
give an example for each of these types of communication. How do these
categories relate to the controllability and the credibility of the message?
Question 2:
Provide a brief critique of the key dimensions of the service environment within
one of the followings:
• Atticus Café (Ground Floor, CBE Building); or
• CBE Student Information & Service Desk (Ground Floor, CBE Building); or
• Chifley Library or Hancock Library or Menzies Library; or
• Your residential hall on campus.
