COMM0999 Assignment 3:
myRoadmap
Tips and advice
2024
What to do….
1. Check the Assessment Guidebook for the due date
2. Complete your Future Work Self Survey (link available on Moodle)
3. Download the myRoadmap template from Moodle
4. Fill in ALL sections of the template – as per the instructions AND word
limits provided for each section
5. Submit the myRoadmap via the TurnItIn submission box on Moodle.
6. YES YOU WILL SEE A SIMILARITY MATCH IN TURNITIN because you are all
using the same template. This is ok, as long as the matches are only to
the ‘template’ itself. Matches in your contributions will be investigated
under UNSW Academic Integrity Rules
7. If you have met the word limit requirements your similarity match (to the
template) will be approximately 1/3. If your similarity match is >50% and
is only matching the template you haven’t provided enough detail/
description
Section 1: Select a PLO and set a related goal
• Observe the word limit –
minimum 20 words
• Select one of the 6 PLOs
listed in the BCom PLO
Threshold Criteria
document on Moodle
• write ONE goal that relates
to building/ enhancing your
skills in that area.
Example:
• Notes: - the first attempt at writing a goal was not ‘specific’ (you test
this out in Section 2 of the myRoadmap) so I rewrote the goal
‘Attempt 2’ … which is now something that is more SMART
• Your goal MUST relate to your selected PLO.
• Goals like ‘get a HD WAM average’, or ‘get an internship’ are NOT
appropriate to this assignment.
• A goal that says ‘get an internship in an NGO to develop my
understanding of Responsible Business Professionalism’ IS OK
Section 2: break down your goal using SMART framework
• In this section you are breaking down
the goal you wrote in Section 1, and
‘testing it’ using the SMART framework.
• Having worked through section 2 you
may find your goal is not SMART (maybe
you can’t measure it), at which point
you need to go back to section 1 and re-
write your goal so that it is SMART
Section 3: Your motivation
• Write 50 – 100 words about why this goal is
important to you – what is your motivation?
Section 4: My Future
• In this section you reflect on the report you have
received after completing the Future Work Self
Survey focusing SPECIFICALLY on the NETWORK
diagram.
• Explain how the findings reinforce or challenge what
you have set as your goal or your motivation.
• You MUST refer specifically to the outcomes in your
FWS report – use the terminology of the report!
Section 5: Your motivation
• In this section we introduce you to myBCom Points (which you need to collect for COMM1999 and
COMM3999). You have already learnt about myBCom points in the Blueprint.
• Follow the instructions to fill in ALL of section 5.
• You MUST have 1 entry for Course Points, 1 entry for Experience Points, the other choices can be
either Course Points or Experience points.
• Having anything less than 25 points in total OR the activities are incomplete/ inaccurate you have
not completed this section.
See example on next slide
Section 6: Your success
• 50 – 100 words on how will you
know that you have met your goal
• How will you feel?
You have one shot at this assignment,
make sure you complete all parts
correctly.
