Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of
another person. It goes beyond sympathy, which involves
feeling sorry for someone's situation by actively trying to put
yourself into other people's shoes. Empathy allows for a deeper
connection, fostering compassion, improving communication,
and resolving conflicts by recognizing and validating other
people's emotions. It is an essential element for building
meaningful relationships and promoting social harmony.

people are going through, and it helps to
connect you with people at times.

Creativity is defined as the production of novel and useful ideas.
Novelty and usefulness interact significantly in the prediction of
creativity, with usefulness being predictive of creativity only with highly novel ideas.
Using creativity in business is important
because it fosters unique ideas, which is a key component of
innovation. However, creative ideas don't always lead to
innovations because they don't necessarily produce viable
solutions to problems.

• A relevant and significant problem I‘ve encountered in my community is food insecurity. Many
families in the area struggle to access affordable, nutritious food regularly, especially with rising
costs and limited availability of fresh food. This issue is particularly pronounced in low -income
areas, where grocery stores may be far away, and transportation options are limited. The
significance of this problem is profound. Food insecurity can lead to poor health outcomes,
including malnutrition, obesity, and chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. It also affects
children’s ability to focus in school and perform well academically, perpetuating cycles of poverty.
Additionally, food insecurity places a strain on local food banks and charitable organizations, which
may not have the resources to meet the growing demand.

• Brainstorm and develop a novel and useful solution to the identified problem.
• Describe your solution in detail, explaining how it is both novel and useful.
