All aspects of the assessment are to be completed individually. Aims of the Assessment: 1. to demonstrate understanding of the fundamental principles of quantitative research 2. to demonstrate understanding of the fundamental principles of qualitative research 3. to demonstrate understanding of the fundamental principles relating to ethical conduct of research. 4. Critically evaluate social research In this final assessment you need to draw on your understanding of the fundamental principles of COMU2030 to reflect on your group survey research project, identifying limitations of the survey project and their implications, and providing suggestions for future research. Reflection on the group survey research project All research has its limitations (even research conducted by well-funded experienced researchers!). In this reflection you need to evaluate your survey research project through applying what you’ve learned in the course to identify any limitations, discuss the implications of these limitations for your findings, make suggestions for how they could be overcome in future research and propose future research directions for the research topic. Ask yourself the following questions to guide the reflection: • What were the limitations of the sample and sampling method? o What implications do these limitations have on the findings? o How could you overcome the limitations in future research? • Were there any limitations of your variables and survey questions? o What improvements to the survey could be made in future research? • What research could be done on this topic by future researchers? You should incorporate citations from relevant literature to support your arguments. Suggested Formatting • Headings: Use the headings indicated above. • Font: Arial or Times New Roman, 12 pt. • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing. • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides. • Referencing: APA 7th Edition.
