This is a short release take-home exam. Open-book exams do not permit the use of third party communication or
collaboration apps or websites. Access to any such app or website is strictly prohibited during your exam and is a serious
academic integrity breach.

Start: 13:00 (Sydney, Australia time (https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/australia/sydney) )
Duration: 3 hours and 25 minutes (205 minutes). This includes:
10 minutes of reading time, but you can start writing whenever you are ready– you are strongly encouraged to use this
time to carefully plan and structure your response before you start writing.
Quiz buffer time: You will be allowed a buffer time of 15 minutes in case you experience any technical issues starting
your exam. This means that you have 15 minutes to begin the exam and still get the full time allowed to complete the
exam. If you are unable to start your exam within the buffer time, you should apply for special consideration. Buffer time
does NOT mean you have extra time to complete your exam
15 minutes of upload time to allow you to upload your files as per your exam instructions. Do NOT treat this as extra
writing time. The upload time must be used solely to save and upload your files correctly as per the exam instructions.
Manage your time carefully. Check that you have saved and named your file correctly and uploaded the correct file. If
your time runs out while you are uploading this is not considered a technical issue.
Please keep track of your time. Use the time on your computer so that you always know how much time you have left.
If you encounter technical difficulties during the exam that prevent you from submitting your exam on time, you should apply
for Special Consideration.

Further instructions: You should read the questions, and present your responses for your chosen 10 questions in one
document. Include your student ID number in the document. In your responses, clearly indicate the question
number and part number. Do not include the question text in your document. If you answer more than 10 questions, only
the first 10 will be marked.
Each question is in three parts. These parts are worth 2 marks each, and for each part a response of about 50 words is
recommended. There is no penalty writing less or more than 50 words.
Referencing: If consulting external resources, you must paraphrase the information and cite your source(s) by including the
website link in your response. You are not expected use a formal citation style (e.g. Harvard or APA referencing).
Specific instructions for exam upload: Include all responses for your chosen 10 questions in a single document. Save the
file name with only your student ID number as your personal detail for anonymous marking e.g. "123456789.docx" or
"123456789 BIOL1008 exam.docx". Accepted file types are Word Doc and PDFs only.
