3Final Exam - Purpose
The aviation industry and especially Aviation Security and Airport
Management are heavily regulated.
The final examination is to:
• test your ability to determine if you can support an argument (in this case
a true/false statement); and
• support your answer by finding and recording the correct reference in the
legislation.
You are not expected to know the legislative reference, but
you will be required to look it up
4Final Exam - Outline
• 2 Hours duration on-line via Moodle
• 25 Questions (each with two parts) – Part A and Part B
• Each Question is worth 2 marks - 1 mark for Part A and 1 mark for Part B
• The exam is worth 50% of the total course mark
• The date and time of the final examination is to be confirmed, but it will
only be able available during the allotted time and date during exam
period.
5Final Exam - Structure
• The first 13 questions will be from the Aviation Transport Security Act
2004 and Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005
• The final 12 questions will be from the Airports Act 1996 and Airports
Regulations 1997
• Only refer to the flowing legislation to answer the questions:
– Aviation Transport Security Act 2004
– Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005
– Airport Act 1996
– Airports Regulations 1997

Each question will be in two parts: Part A (1 mark) + Part B (1 mark)
Part A
The first part of the question will be to determine if the given statement is True or
False. You will select either “True” or “False” from the drop down box in Moodle.

Part B
You will be required to search the applicable legislation to find the reference to
support your answer to Part A.
In the space provided on Moodle, type your chosen reference, for example
• r4.56 if your reference is from a regulation or
• s83 if your reference is from an Act
“r” and “s” can either be entered as lower or upper case. If you fail to indicate an “r”
or “s” the answer will be marked as incorrect.
You only need to record the legislative reference not any subsections, for example:
you are not required to reference as r4.52(1)(b)(ii), only r4.52

You must put a prefix to denote the piece of legislation
You can enter the prefix as either lower case “r” and “s” or as upper case “R”
and “S”. This will have no effect on the answer result.
