Instructions for
Assessment Task 1:
There is one (1) portfolio of evidence required for this unit. This provides
an opportunity for students to showcase the skills required for
competence in this unit.

This Assessment Task requires you to produce and test a portfolio of web documents (including
HTML, CSS and JavaScript script) based on the requirements.

You may use the provided template files and add examples to each file to to meet the requirements.
If you choose not to use the template files, you may create your own pages to show your examples,
as long as each of the examples is clearly labelled showing which requirement(s) it relates to.

Portfolio requirements:

A. HTML examples
1. HTML basic elements
. Three or more basic HTML elements provided in a page. If using the
template files, you must add three new unique elements to the existing
HTML.

2. HTML Tables
. A basic table provided in an page without using CSS or JavaScript.

3. HTML Images
. An image provided in a page without using CSS or JavaScript.

4. HTML Basic Styles
. An example of an embedded style of an element provided in a page.

5. HTML Linked Styles
. An example of a style of an element provided in a page that links to a
separate CSS file.

6. HTML Blocks (Div and Span)
. At least one DIV or SPAN block provided in a page.

7. HTML Responsive Web Design
. An example of a responsive page. This should include setting the viewport
and having text/images move, change or resize based on the browser width.
Note: Having an image resize by setting its width set to 100% would not be
considered an example of responsive web design on its own.

8. HTML iFrames
. At least one basic HTML iFrame provided in a page.

B. CSS examples
1. CSS Styles
. An example of styling an HTML element using CSS provided in a page.

2. CSS Tables
. An example of a table created using CSS provided in a page.
Note: This is different to an HTML table.

3. CSS Dropdown and NavBar
. An example of a Dropdown and Navbar using CSS provided in a page.
Note: You should not use JavaScript in this page.

4. CSS Image Gallery
. An example of an Image Gallery containing two or more images provided in
a page. Note: You should not use JavaScript in this page.


C. JavaScript
1. JavaScript Alert Box
. An example of an Alert Box using JavaScript provided in a page.

2. JavaScript Strings
. An example of a text string shown on a page using JavaScript (rather than
HTML) provided in a page.

3. JavaScript Image Swap
. An example of an image that swaps with another image when a button is
clicked (using JavaScript). For example a picture of a unlit light globe changes
to a lit light globe when a button is clicked.

4. JavaScript Display Date and Time
. Show the current date/time in a page using JavaScript.

5. JavaScript Identify Browser
. Show details of the client browser using JavaScript.

6. JavaScript Form Validation
. Check the input of a web form using JavaScript. For example, your page
could ask the client to enter a number between 1 and 10 in a form, and
when they click a “Submit” button, it will check to see whether they actually
entered a number between 1 and 10 and then show an alert if not.

7. JavaScript Progress Bar
. Show a progress bar using JavaScript.


D. BootStrap (JavaScript library)
1. Bootstrap Dropdown and NavBar
. An example of a Dropdown and Navbar using BootStrap provided in a page.
Note: This is different to a CSS Dropdown and Navbar.
