Requirements:
The individual assessment incorporates two components – an academic essay and an individual reflection, as follows.
Component 1: Write an academic essay which answers ONE of the following questions:
(a)
Entrepreneurship is an important factor for national economic growth.
Discuss this statement and explain your answer using examples.
(b) To what extent do you agree that entrepreneurs make the world a better place? Use examples to support your answer.
(c)
What are the most important factors that large businesses must consider
when integrating an entrepreneurial culture? Choose three factors
and discuss using examples.
Your
essay should address the specific question and aim to construct a
convincing argument that is based on your understanding of
entrepreneurial ideas
and topics during the module. Your essay
should use and reference appropriate academic literature. Essays will be
assessed on the demonstration of
your knowledge and understanding
of relevant enterprise and entrepreneurship topics, the ability to form a
critical argument, and the engagement with
wider reading in the subject area.
Component 2: As part of your individual assignment, you also need to provide a personal reflection (no more than 500 words).
Reflect
on your experiences of working in your business team for Assignment 1.
As an individual in that group, consider what you learned about
entrepreneurship
including the skills you developed (or would like to develop) and the
experiences you had as part of an entrepreneurial team. The aim
of
this task is for you to reflect on your own entrepreneurial orientation
and any particular strengths or weaknesses that you encountered. You
should
structure your reflection using STARS as described below:
STARS stands for:
Situation: what was the situation facing the group?
Task: what particular task are you going to focus on?
Action: what did you do?
Result: what was the outcome from that action?
Self-reflection: in light of the outcome what would you do next time?
If
you did not attend the module (and have no experience of working in a
team on the module) please reflect on your engagement with the module.
In
light of your reflection, consider an aspect of the team’s work in which you could have contributed.
Essays
and reflections which do not follow the above instructions may be
subject to penalties. Please follow the instructions carefully.
