ARGUMENT ESSAY



(50 marks)




Write an ARGUMENT ESSAY of approximately 650-750 words on ONE of the
topics below.

Plan your writing and include an outline. Your outline should cover the introduction
and body paragraphs of your essay.

Clearly mark the parts of your essay by writing in the margin at the appropriate
point: thesis, argument, counter argument, and refutation.

Double-space your writing and write at the end of your essay the number of words
you have written.


EITHER: (a) Would it be a fairer system if all exams were conducted as ‘open
book’ examinations where students are allowed to consult course
books and other material of their choice?

OR: (b) Should the New Zealand government (or the government of your
own country) require its citizens to have a vaccine against
Covid19 or should an individual be allowed to refuse to be
vaccinated?

OR: (c) Is going to university really beneficial considering the high cost
and the stress involved?
