M ilestone One

P roject - Individual Proposal (5 Marks)
Due at 16:00 1/04/2022

Overview

The goal of this assignment is to propose a web-information system of your own interest;
however, it is important for you to notice that you will need to carry out the proposal in the
following milestones and deploy it on the UQ Zone or a public host.

Submission

Online submission to Blackboard. You must submit a copy of your proposal (in the form of a
PDF or a Microsoft Word Document) to Blackboard no later than 16:00 1/04/2022, and the
proposal should have no more than 2 pages in text.

Proposal (5 Marks)

The proposal should be for either a website or an app you are interested in developing. There
are however a few requirements that must be met. These requirements are described in the
Proposal Requirements below.

To begin your proposal, you should include a brief overview of your application layout,
followed by an overview and justification of the technologies that will be used.

Next, you should cover the design of your application and functionality that will be included
(e.g., interactions with users, certain online business transactions, or special interactive visual
effects). Please ensure that your project meets the requirements outlined in the Project
Specifications on Blackboard.

Note: In Milestone 2, you must deploy your project on a public host (UQ Zone or via other
host providers), and you do need to implement it in PHP or another server-side language of
your choice.

Proposal Requirements

Module Description Mark
Introduction A detailed description of the main purpose of your project. 0.5%
Objective The planning and design of the main functional components of
your project. You may refer to the example feature table shown in
the project specifications.

UI/UX Design A clear design of the main flows and functions of your project.
You may use wireframes or mockups to demonstrate the main
pages of your project. They can be drawn by hand or created using
any wireframe tools.

Timeline Timeline of the major deliverables in each milestone. 0.5%

Marking Criteria of the Proposal:

1. Completeness: This proposal must give sufficient information about what kind of
application will be implemented, what technology will be used, and what business
function (purposes) will be implemented.

2. Soundness: This proposal must give the reasoning about the design objects (i.e.,
front-end elements, project structure, visual effects, interactive functions, and scripting
language techniques).

3. Adaptiveness: Your proposal must describe the deployment environment about your
project and identify the technical issues to implement such an application.
