FINM7405 Mid-semester Exam Information
Semester 1, 2022

IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!!
• The FINM7405 mid-semester exam will be held online via Blackboard.
• Exam date and time: Wednesday 27th April, 2:00pm–4:10pm (Brisbane time)
• Exam duration: 120 minutes working time + 10 minutes reading time (you can submit your
exam before the end of the exam).
• Type of exam: open book
• Permitted materials: any material on the FINM7405 Blackboard site
• Required/recommended materials: calculator and/or Excel
• Exam coverage: Topics 1 – 5
• Type of questions: The exam consists of 20 multiple-choice questions (1 mark each) with
a mix of theory and calculation questions. The actual multiple-choice questions that each
student will get may be different, as the questions will be selected at random from a pool
of questions.
• Total marks: 20 marks, weighting 20% of your overall grade
• Release of marks: You will not see your marks immediately once you submit your exam.
Marks will be released later when finalised.
• Formula sheet: will NOT be provided (due to open book exam).
• Internet/technology problems: If you experience interruptions to your examination, you
are required to collect suitable evidence, e.g. screenshots, photos, videos or emails from
AskUs and advise the course coordinator.
• Deferred exam: If you are unwell or experiencing exceptional circumstances, please do
not attempt this exam as you will not be able to defer once you have started. If you need
to defer this exam, please request this on si-net: https://my.uq.edu.au/information-and-
services/manage-my-program/exams-and-assessment/deferring-exam. For more details,
refer to Section 5.4 Other Assessment Information > DEFERRED EXAMS (Midsemester
Examinations).
• Exam clashes: If you do have 3 or more mid-semester exams scheduled on one day, please
contact exams.officer@business.uq.edu.au for advice on what to do.
• How to prepare for the exam:
o Lecture slides
o Tutorial questions
o Practice mid-semester exam (NOTE: the practice exam only indicates the format of
the exam, rather than the content and level of difficulty of the actual exam).




• Online exam consultations:
• There is no lecture/workshop during the week starting 25th April due to the exam.
