2. [20] Consider two different software products. From empirical studies, it is estimated that
the first software’s reliability behavior can be approximated by a quadratically increasing
(with time) hazard rate (with a multiplicative constant of 0.01), while the second software is
estimated to have a constant hazard rate. Given that the reliabilities of the two products are
identical at 3 months, what are the respective probabilities that they will not fail in the first
year?
