How language affects racism
Racial discrimination has a long history, and the theory of white racial
superiority provides the most important theoretical basis for it. In ancient Greece,
when the culturally developed Greeks expropriated non-Greeks, some famous
thinkers seemed to defend their aggression from the perspective of race. For example,
Plato believed that Athenians were not allowed to enslave Athenians and make each
other their own slaves. The Greek city-states were not allowed to go to war because of
the same blood and feelings. But affirm the war against the alien race, and allow each
other to become their own slaves. Racism and language have always been
complementary. "Hearing Race: Can language use lead to racism" by Mel Green and
"How language differences can spark fear, racism amid the coronavirus pandemic" by
Kaitlyn E. Smith both discuss how language leads to racism. Kaitlyn E. Smith tells
the story of people in many areas who were discriminated against because they had
accents that did not belong to the local language during the period of COVID-19. Mel
Green's article describes language, the sources of racism and how language leads to
racist events. In the context of how language affects racism, Kaitlyn E. Smith's article
is more persuasive, because, first of all, there are more examples in Kaitlyn E. Smith's
article to strengthen his point of view, and these examples are published with trusted
sources and have clear citation sources in the article; on the contrary, Mel Green's
article does not cite enough examples of source implementation. Plus, the tone of the
article in Kaitlyn E. Smith is more objective and informative, while the tone of Mel
Green's article is subjective and skeptical. Finally, Kaitlyn E. Smith's article can better
stimulate readers' empathy because Kaitlyn E. Smith's article covers a wider range of
groups, while Mel Green's article describes only black people.
Kaitlyn E. Smith's article has more source examples than Mel Green's article,
so Kaitlyn E. Smith's article is more persuasive. Kaitlyn E. Smith's article describes
how New Yorkers were kicked out of New England because of their accent. Hong
Kong resists residents with Chinese mainland accents coming to Hong Kong. People
who reported on Chinese mainland in the New York Times boycotted Hubei accents.

There is no more convincing example in Mel Green's article, even though there are
some reasons why blacks are subjected to racial discrimination, but the source of all
the reasons is not identified. In reading an article, the reader can find the source if
there are any examples, which can make the reader feel more persuasive. If the reader
does not find the source of the example in the article, it will make the reader feel that
the author of this article may describe the example in a self-described way. Mel
Green's article describes the causes of language for the origin of racism, but Mel
Green's article does not have enough evidence to support the author's point of view.
But Kaitlyn E. Smith's article describes enough about each country's influence on
language and COVID-19, each with its own source, which can be found in the links in
the article. And the examples are from authoritative publishers such as the New York
Times.
The tone of Kaitlyn E. Smith's article is more objective, and there are enough
examples to support his point. The tone of Mel Green's article is more subjective and
skeptical. Many descriptions in Mel Green's articles contain the author's own views,
and many examples of racism are also given to make people reflect on the problem of
racism. For example, there are a lot of people not to be racist in the summary of the
last paragraph. In Kaitlyn E. Smith's article, the author describes these examples
objectively and does not contain a subjective attitude to describe the right or wrong of
the matter. Because this article is originally an article about racism, it should express
objectivity and describe things about very sensitive issues. If it contains its own
subjective attitude, it will appear that this article is very imprecise. The author in Mel
Green's article is already black, so it makes people question the description in Mel
Green's article. Because in the more need to declare a fact of the article, more need to
have an objective tone to emphasize the importance of the content of the article. In
Kaitlyn E. Smith's article, examples are used to support the fact that accents can lead
to racism during the novel coronavirus outbreak. An objective and factual description
of examples that occur in life. Let the reader reflect on the article after reading it.
Because everyone has a different attitude towards racism.
Kaitlyn E. Smith's articles inspire empathy more than Mel Green's articles.

Most of Mel Green's articles describe black racism, and most of them describe North
American racism. There are very few descriptions of racism in Asia or elsewhere.
This will make many blacks who are not in the United States more aware of the
intention of the article itself. There are many cases in Kaitlyn E. Smith's articles, such
as Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and so on. People everywhere can feel the
racism caused by language. When readers are reading articles, they are more likely to
reflect in Mel Green's articles that most of them are racist in North America. There
are very few descriptions of racism in Asia or elsewhere. Even people who feel racist
in North America will feel very unfair. But after all, it is not something that happens
to you, and other readers will not find it very resonating. Therefore, the reader can not
feel the situation of blacks described in the article because of racism. In Kaitlyn E.
Smith's article, there are a lot of examples about regions being racist because of
COVID-19, because readers will feel that things in or around their own country have
a more sense of crisis. Readers will be more sympathetic to what may happen around
them.
Kaitlyn E. Smith's article is a good description of how language affects
racism. Both articles are published on the Internet. There is no more in-depth analysis
of the problems caused by racism. In particular, Mel Green's article is more obviously
a paper. But the author has his own subjective attitude in the article. However,
because language can lead to racism, there is no need to panic. Everyone is born with
a different life, and difficulties and unfairness should not be limited to this. In general,
Kaitlyn E. Smith can tell readers more persuasively that language can lead to racism,
and we should go through these things to reflect on the seriousness of the problem. So
I recommend Mel Green's article to add more examples and data about other places
being racist because of language. I suggest reading Kaitlyn E. Smith's articles,
because most of Kaitlyn E. Smith's articles describe COVID-19 being discriminated
against because of language people in many parts of the world. Mel Green and
Kaitlyn E. Smith both want to express that we should pay more attention to racism,
which will cause a lot of inconvenience to us. Everyone is equal, and we should
reduce our prejudice against others. To make the world more balanced.
