FIN6108 International Financial Management: Case Report (70%)
The Case Report is a group project of THREE. Each group is required to write a business consulting
report for a chosen multinational firm. The report should identify the strengths and weaknesses of the
firm and evaluate the opportunities and challenges facing by the firm with the support of data, figures
and evidence. The report should provide recommendations for the firm to strengthen its international
financial management in the competitive global market.
Some interesting topics written by students are as follows:
• Tesla
• Alibaba
• Huawei
• Apple Inc.
• HSBC
• Tencent
• Microsoft
Since time is limited, you should identify a topic for your report and collect data related to your topic as
soon as possible. Consult and obtain the consent of your instructor when you are making a topic
decision.
Suggested outline for the case report:
1. Introduction

4. Body of the paper
The body of the paper may consist of
• The relevant financial theories, such as foreign exchange exposure, international
financing, foreign investment and risk management
• The background of the multinational firm
• A SWOC analysis when entering an emerging market
• Foreign exchange exposure management
• Description and discussion of data and figures

Assessment
Your case report will be assessed in the following two areas:
1. Presentation performance (30 %)
Each Group is required to present the chosen case to the class. The presentation should take 20
minutes and should use PowerPoint slides. Submit your PowerPoint slides to your instructor at
least one week before your presentation.
Individual group member will be graded based on:
*Depth of knowledge and preparation, and presentation skills.
*Ability to answer questions from the instructor and other students in the class.
