CA1 quizzes worth 25% of overall marks takes place from 9am to 11am (GMT) on 11 March (this
Thursday).
The instructions for completing your quizzes are as follows:
➡ You will need to download the pdf file (there will be a link here) containing the questions and answer
these questions.
➡ You will then need to submit your answers by clicking Submit Assignment under the Canvas
Assignment CA1 (this page).
The submission format is PDF, and you should use the Microsoft Word or LaTeX templates provided
to answer the questions in the PDF file.
To produce a pdf from your word document click : file->export->create PDF/XPS.
If you like you can include photos or scans of hand written answers by pasting them into the word file or
including them in the LaTeX document.
You can use this for example if your answer involves a lot of equations that you do not know how to
enter via the equation editor.
If you need to use any other tool other than Word or LaTex to produce your PDF, then you should
attempt to replicate the format, paying particular attention to the following points:
➡ Put your module name and your student ID in the footer of each page
➡ Put your module name and your student ID as a heading
➡ Use a font of at least 12 points in size
You should submit drafts of your answers at regular intervals, in case you are for some reason unable to
complete and submit your final version after the two hours window ends. Please note that, no late
submissions will be marked unless you get permission from welfare to submit late. If you do submit late
and do not get an extension from welfare, then your last submission before the deadline (if any) will be
the one that is marked.
Every submission must include the following text at the end. It is included in all of the supplied
templates.
