IMPROVING THE INFORMATION INFRASTRUCTURE –
Case eHealth
Group Project
ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVES
Assume you are a team of consultants working at eHealth VIC and you are assigned for the Far West
PHN project. This assignment is designed to develop your understanding of the alignment between an
organisation’s business needs and its ICT Infrastructures. In particular, you will focus on how an
organisation might approach a Digital Transformation project. You will examine the problems with the
existing ICT infrastructure, develop the preliminary scoping for a digital transformation priority and provide
practical suggestions and solutions to the organisation. This assignment aims to develop the initial scoping
for a digital transformation project and prioritise one solution for change.
The assignment deliverables are:
- An internal report for the organization (i.e., Far West PHN) in which you outline the scope of the
project;
- A presentation targeted to the senior management of the organisation.
COMPANY BACKGROUND
The case description can be found on Canvas. Further information about the case will also be provided in
the week 7 lecture and tutorial.
You can make reasonable assumptions when writing your report.
UNDERSTANDING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
The following papers about Digital transformation might be a useful starting point to develop a definition of
Digital Transformation:

Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Vol. 28, Iss. 2, pp. 118-144.

Transformation in Business Organizations: A Systematic Review of Literature" BLED 2017

Students Grievance Procedure
Teamwork is essential for this project. Please meet regularly with all your team members and ensure that
everyone contributes towards the report. Please discuss with your lecturer if your team is facing any
problems. There might be a peer review at the end of the semester to gauge your contribution in your
respective teams.
Despite good intentions and effort, from time to time, there is a possibility that some individuals for whatever
reason, fail to take their role as team members seriously. If such an individual exists and happens to be a
member of your team, the following procedure must be followed:
a. Active members should make a significant effort to contact the participating members by all means, for
example, e-mail, and phone, locate him/her at lectures/tutorials etc.
b. Provide a paper trail between the team members and the “sleeping” member (e.g., keep a proper log of
communications and events), in order to substantiate the claim of “significant effort” mentioned in paragraph
(a) above.
c. Contact your lecturer to report and discuss the team’s problems in a meeting. You should do this no later
than week 11. Bring all supporting evidence to the meeting. The lecturers will investigate the problem and
take appropriate action.
Please note that the lecturers will not mediate in all other cases (e.g., social incompatibility, skills mismatch).
Have fun and all the best!
