The test may be attempted any time during this period. There is only one attempt
allowed per student. Once started, the test will last for 120 minutes. Once
completed, the test will remain closed and may only be reopened after results are
released, during feedback and review with staff.

Open book, timed, and located in the “Within-Semester Tests section” of Moodle.
The link to the test will remain hidden till the day before the test. All test results
will only be released before the end of Swot Vac.
Topics in Lectures 5-11 and Workshops 5-11 will be assessed (Some concepts
learned in Lectures 4-11 will be necessary to understand the questions though).
The test consists of 20 Multiple Choice Questions and 3 EXCEL-based questions.
The Multiple Choice Questions count for 20% of the final grade and the EXCEL-
based questions count for 25% of the final grade. There is a mix of calculation
(60% approximately) and theory (40% approximately) questions. The questions
are drawn from a test bank and shuffled to ensure that each student sits a
different test.
Excel permissible and encouraged.
Computer and Internet access that allows uninterrupted access to Moodle LMS
for the test duration.
Upon completion of the test quiz, the test will be hidden on Moodle. General test
feedback will be provided after the results are released.

As per university policy, this In-your-own-time Moodle assessment is not subordinate to the
personal out-of-school schedules of students and thus cannot be rescheduled. Students who
need to apply for special consideration are to see the instructions provided in the Special
Consideration Moodle section and will have to prove to the university that they are unable to sit
the test during the entirety of the 3 -day test period. Students who sit the test will void any
special consideration application. Special consideration is handled centrally by the university;
the application and processing of it is out of the jurisdiction of unit staff.
Generative AI tools cannot be used in this assessment task
In this assessment, you must NOT use generative artificial intelligence (AI) to generate any

materials or content in relation to the assessment task.
3. Special Notice to DSS Students
If you are registered with Disability Support Services (DSS) and have formal Alternative
Assessment Arrangements available, as per DSS policy, you need to inform the CE by email to the
central subject email at least one week before any assessment starts, where such arrangements
are available. According to this policy, students who need DSS for the first in-your-own-time
Moodle test will need to inform the CE by the end of Week 11. This is done by sending written
confirmation of your arrangements to the central subject email, at least one week prior to
assessment. Any DSS student not following the DSS policy may not be eligible for alternative
assessment.
